Recently, I feel like I have really been doing things to counter the company’s challenges in Addressing the shortage of skilled workers in the areas of oil and gas enviromental protection and in renewables technology,

effectively managing change, especially with the rise of automation and AI in exploration, operations and safety and enviromental protection monitoring.

Keeping the workforce engaged and motivated in a physically demanding, high safety-risk and often repetitive work environment can also be a challenge.

I’m a true believer in the power of teams but what gets me most excited is feeling like I can get on with my business objectives and I have a whole team of people supporting me. Say one of my goals is to rationalize the number of suppliers we have and drive cost down: I get help from the team that reports to me and my C-Suite colleagues, right up to the CEO . The company is also very hot on helping us to achieve personal professional targets.

Everyone works collaboratively so in one project to develop a new suite of AI Threat Detection products, we have had people all round the business contributing and its been great to meet colleagues from different backgrounds and perspectives.
